how purogenics got started
In 2004 I was working on stock formulations for cosmetic, personal care, and industrial formulas for my company. One day while visiting with my sister I found out about her neighbor who suffers from an acute case of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). Not knowing much about the disease at the time, I found out more about her neighbor and her neighbor's specific issues and especially about her sensitivity to fragrances, windshield washer fluid and several other products. We discussed some of the cleaning products that are difficult or impossible for find. One of the top on her list was dish soap.
As I was working on these types of formulations, I took it as a challenge to formulate several products that could be used by people with MCS. I started by researching what MCS is. In addition I asked questions and heard more personal stories of my sister's neighbor. With this information, I started preparing formulations. As dish soap was one of the most troublesome products to get, I started with it. I prepared a number of dish soap formulations trying different combinations until I finally felt I had one formulation that I believed would work. I sent a sample of this to my sister's neighbor for trial and she said that she didn't have any problems with it. I then proceeded to formulate hand soap and several other products.
Life being as it is I had to shelf the project for several years. In late 2007 and early 2008, I pulled up the old formulas and decided to move forward with making these products available for more people in a hope to help more people with MCS have the products they need to make life just a little bit easier.
All our products are formulated with MCS sufferers in mind.
